What, exactly, does "The wan" mean to you in this context? What,
exactly, is connected to what, exactly? (Hint: If a device has
different types of Ethernet ports, then "connected to device" is not
enough detail.)

A router can have a WAN side and a LAN side. A network switch is
all-LAN; all its ports are equivalent.
If you have one cable which causes a problem, then I'd suspect that
one cable. All eight conductors are needed for 1Gb/s speed; only (the
right) four are needed for lower speeds.

If you're installing your own connectors, then I'd inspect the work
carefully. One bad connection out of sixteen could cause this.

Does the problem move with the switch, or with the cable?

To simplify all new CAT 7 cables and Cat 6 through the house. cable from router direct into pc gives full Gb but pull from pc and put in switch only 100. pc to switch gives full Gb I have tested in every port and the same conditions stand.
