GS108

Hi, I have a home network system covering 4 floor levels. My problem is I have an area that gets no wi-fi and no plug in. I Have run a cat6 cable to the area. What would you recomend ? Should I buy a poe switch and an poe access point or an injector and an poe access point? Everything  on the network is Netgear. I have the GS108 unmanaged switch now. Ive got 3 netgear routers. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

A PoE (PoE+, or even PoE++) switch isn't really cost effective for just one wireless access point. Depends again on the power availability where you want that AP to be installed.

Needless to say, just having the network cables from a PoE switch to the access points is "sexy" - less cables, much cleaner installation. But also a slightly higher risk sor single point of failure. And keep in mind that baseline essential APs might not offer a PoE option, too.

If the plan is to arrange more network cabling with dedicated links from the switch to multiple wireless APs over time, this does change of course.
