GS110MX 10Gb port how to use?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a GS110MX switch, but do not understand the datasheet. It states the two 10Gb ports are uplink ports.

I have two PCs with 10Gb network cards, I am looking to connect them on the network to transfer data at 10Gb between each other and also access the Internet at 1Gb over the port connected to the cable modem/router.

If I plug the twp PCs into the two 10Gb ports on the GS110MX will this work i.e. the two PCs will transfer data between themselves at 10Gb and also have access over the 1Gb connection to the modem/router?

I am a bit confused by the datasheet's use of uplinks.

Many thanks

There is nothing "special" when it comes to the two 10 GbE ports on the GS110MX (or the similar SX10 aka. GS810EMX in the default config). Except of the possible link speed of course.

Many thanks so I can plug in my two PCs with 10Gb LAN ports into the two 10GB ports on the switch using Cat 6 LAN cables and they will transfer network data between each other at the 10Gb speed?
