GS208 Connectivity into D7000

Hi - just invested in Nighthawk D7000 modem router and wifi is all good. However, I have a problem with the Netgear GS208 network switch. Its plugged in and switched on but isnt connecting anything. I can plug the RPi (openremote2 controller) into the D7000 and all is good. But I plug it into the GS208 which is plugged into the D7000 and not showing up as attached device. Everything is powered up. Usually the GS208 lights up whichever ethernet is plugged in but not the one connected to the D7000.

Thoughts?

  • Sorted - seems to be the ethernet cable.

Isnt there a speciall type called crossover? I think this is what this might be. Looks like its not required.

Does that make sense? Anywho - a regular cable fixed it.
