GS308 Unmanaged Switch Port Issue (8 port)

After troubleshooting, I was able to isolate the issue. It seems like the switch is the issue. Essentially, anything that was wired would not have any connection.

So I unplugged (ethernet or power) from the hub and everything would start working again that is wired directly into the router.

I plugged/powered the switch again and it would stop. So I started unplugged ethernet connectivity to the ports and noticed that if I only keep 4 ports used, everything wired would work. If I plugged in a 5th ethernet cable everything would then stop. I unplug it again and it would work again. I thought at first it was a bad port but it doesn't matter what ports I used, as long as there is only 4 used, everything would work. Otherwise if I plugged in a 5th ethernet, it stops working again.

The point is out of 8 ports, only 4 ports can be used at a time.

Does this make sense? Either way, it's working oly with 4 ports.

    boltsnnuts,

    Welcome to our community! :)

It seems that you are having issues with the switch. May I know how is everything connected? Is the switch connected directly to the router? This is just a plug-and-play device. We may need to further check your physical connections that make the switch stop working once you connect the 5th device.

    Regards,
