GS308v3 random disconnects with Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I225-V
Hello everyone!
I have issues with my GS308v3 switch and stable ethernet connection on my W10 PC. I am having random disconnects for usualy about 1 second of my ethernet connection, but it is enough to kick me out of games like CS2, freeze zoom meetings or kill dedicated servers I am hosting. When connecting my cable directly to my PC without the switch in between everything works fine. This is what I get in the Windows Logs:
Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I225-V network link disconnected
after that it connects again
Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I225-V
network 1 Gbit/s full duplex connected

Since it works without the switch, I thought maybe someone here could help me figuring out what could cause the issue.

What CAT# lan cable is being used from the host router the switch is connected to and from the PC to the switch? CAT6 is recommended.
Try swapping lan cables for all devices and from the host router to the switch.Try the switch behind a different router to see if problem follows.
Does this happen with other devices connected to the switch?
Does the switch feel addiontally hot to the touch when this happens?

Thanks for the reply!
- tried two different routers, same issue- I am using a CAT7 cable from the router to the switch (this one I placed inside the wall, so I kinda have to use it, but it works fine on the PC directly, the problem started to occour when using the switch in between, but maybe the switch doesnt like CAT 7?) I will get myself another cable thats long enough to test it out (length is around 12m)
- from switch to PC Ive tried different cables
- tried it with my laptop, no disconnects so far
-switch is mounted at a pretty cold concrete wall and barely felt warm

Hi Arthaxl,
We will wait for your next update whether using a CAT6 cable helps or using another port. We can isolate the problem more if you can connect the switch on another router (network) if possible to determine if it has something to do with your network, cable/s used or the hardware itself.
Kind regards,
BrianL
