There must be something wrong with the power supply, it could be grounded or damaged. You can also contact our support team to get a free power supply replacement.

Apologies for my late reply...
Eventually I didn't contact support as I found a power supply with the same specs as the one provided at home. At the moment I'm using it and it's ok Welch means the original power supply was indeed faulty.
