Yeah I saw that one. Im guessing contemporary switches have gotten alot faster to handle the 1G of data per second i do believe that the newer tech is now able to deliver and perform.

well, it depends what link rate you expect, and what kind of services are run.
On basic audio (not talking of ICMP multicast and the like), for some web administration, for non high-performance file transfers, and much more Fast Ethernet can be perfectly sufficient.
