CHAP authentication for PPPoe ISP setup
Hi there, I have a FVS318N router, the model wouldn't come up in the list above so putting it here in the post. My ISP said the following and I can't seem to find anywhere that talks about CHAP...
Hi there, thanks for your message... I maybe didn't provide enough detail in my message but what I was looking for was related to setting up the internet access with my ISP and not the VPN.
I did receive a private message later that said "FVS318N support CHAP and PAP authentication for PPPoE, don't need to configure it." which I beleive is the correct answer.
I was having issues and the ISP was trying to help me out. I will not be going with that ISP because i can't tell if it's a router issue or something else.

PPPoE option can be found on Network Configuration>WAN Settings>Broadband ISP Settings, see page 30 of the user manual. CHAP is a type authentication we use for VPN Clients or when using RADIUS, are you using RADIUS or VPN? Does the ISP use CHAP as authentication methods?
