FVG318 and Youtube
Hi,
I've recently purchased a FVG318 (my guess would be it's a v1 as there is no hint that there was a previous version on the box) in order to have a strong long range wifi signal. Everything was working but apparently the firmware we had was unstable (it was disconnecting evry now and then and from time to time we had no internet) and we upgraded it. Since then no problem except one. We now can't connect to Youtube. I am almost certain it comes from the FVG318 as it works when i plug in directly to the modem but it doesn't with any device connected in wifi (so it's not OS side, as I connected 2 Androids, 1 XP, 2 Vista and 2 Windows 7). Any help?

PS: I can't call the tech support as my device was bought second-hand. I'm quite angry about it as we in our family have bought Netgear products for more than a decade now.

- aditMentorInstall the v2 firmware. v1 vs v2 only indcates which firmware was shipped with that router.
- TynendirAspirantI'll try tomorrow but when we had it, it was very unstable and we lost connection every now and then ( you can imagine how frustrating it is to be yelled at by wife and kids as soon as Internet is down ;p).
- jmizoguchiVirtuosoFVG318 is one of few prosafe router that firmware can be cross reference. V1 model and can use V2 firmware. V# means hardware changed but for this model you can use V2 firmware :)
- TynendirAspirantHi again. So I did the firmware upgrade and miracle it works. But let's not rejoice after 2 minutes connected on the internet, bam, all the internet shutdown, impossible to access the admin panel of the prosafe and a hard reset is needed to have acess again. So is it the choice that I have? Being able to access youtube for 2 min and having to reset everything very 2 minutes or having internet smoothly but not being able to access youtube. This is a real puzzle I tell you. Do you think there is a way to resolve the all 2 minutes thing?

I still haven't managed to figure out a permanent solution as of yet but I did manage to discover something interesting. I can access Youtube videos and watch them if I use a website such as freeproxy.com. Maybe someone will manage to find a solution out of that.

The reason I has is because this was an issue with the FVS124G that was never resolved either. - TynendirAspirantI don't have any messages, it only loads indefinitely.
