fvs318gv2 loosing intenet, HTB: quantum of class 10001 is big consider r2q change
I have several VPN firewalls that loose internet connection intermittenly. The log shows this, HTB: quantum of class 10001 is big consider r2q change. Also could show 11024 instead of 10001 or both. ...

Thanks for posting the info about the MTU change. We've been having a similar issue for weeks, I adjusted the MTU size from default (1500) to 1492 a couple of days ago after seeing this and I haven't had an outage since. I am seeing some new messages in the logfile though, about every two hours I get something like:
Fri Jan 6 15:40:06 2017((GMT-0600)) [FVS336GV3][Kernel][KERNEL] Port 0 receive error code 4, packet dropped
Fri Jan 6 15:40:06 2017((GMT-0600)) [FVS336GV3][Kernel][KERNEL] Port 0 receive error code 4, packet droppedDoes anyone know what "error code 4" means and whether it's anything to be concerned about?

Hi Nolantech,
You are welcome! Are you still experiencing internet loss with your firewall? If you do, please answer my questions on my earlier posts. That should help us at least isolate your issue.
Thanks,

. ver 4.3.3-6 recently upgraded
2. No QOS set up only 2 devices on this router.
A Panasonic NCP500 phone system using SIP service for Incoming/outgoing calls
A Panasonic TVA50 voicemail system on the network for remote access only.
3. The problem started after this was running for a couple of months the router would freeze, knocking out therer SIP service.
4. A VPN has never been used on this router.
5. Initially the only rules were to allow the SIP service port 5060, RTP ports 12000 thru 12127 and remote port 35300 to the NCP500. And remote port 10000 to the TVA50.
The router as installed and working for a little more than a year. The customer had as ISP change a couple of months before it started locking up. The same carrier (Time Warner) just new service with a new WAN Ip. The customer wanted me to replace the router. Instead I limited the SIP rules to the SIP provider. Thinking itwas some sort of hacking.. The problem persisted. So I replaced the router The first one was a fvs318g the replacement was a fvs318gv2. The service continued to lock up the log would show 'HTB: quantum of class 10001 is big consider r2q change'. I added Deny all rules at the end of all the other firewall rules to the devices. the problem stoped for 4 or 5 days. The problems are now back I have the log turned on and I see alot of dropped packets from Various sources. The router is in stealth mode am I missing something to stop unwanted attacks?

Dear community,
I think I can add something to this thread. We are facing the same problems with a FVS336v3 (bigger brother) and same firmware version (4.3.3-6).
We have 2 different WANs connected to the device. When the quantum-messages appear the device is restarting the IPv4-Stack only for WAN2, which is currently a backup for WAN1. But despite WAN1 being responsible for the normal internet traffic, any internet connection is broken for about 2 minutes.
To answer the other questions (maybe we are facing totally different problems with same outcome):
- What is the firmware version currently installed on the FVS318Gv2?
- 4.3.3-6
- Do you have QoS configured on the FVS318Gv2?
- No.
- What changes have you made before you experienced the issue?
- None for about 5 months.
- Do you lose the internet connection only when VPN is connected?
- As there are coworkers connected vie IPSec almost all the time during working hours and we only notice these problems when internet is down I cannot tell wether it only happens when VPN is established.
- Do you have firewalls rules setup?
- Yes. Mainly outbound rules to seperate the traffic for the 2 WANs.
Best regards
