FVS318n, IP range to allow ICMP Wan Ping incoming help
I have a need to setup a range of external IPs to be able to ping my router.
Off course the settings in security > firewall > attack checks
allow for a single IP to ping or all under espond to Ping on Internet Ports
What I need and maybe I am failing to understand the rules is the following
I have as example (Just using Private as example) IP range 172.18.16.1 - 172.18.17.254 I want to allow to get a echo response back when they ping my WAN IP
Just so you do not ask this is for a keep alive from my VoIP Provider
I setup a service to be ICMP Type 0, I also used the default ICMP Type 4 in the drop downs. Adding a LAN WAN Rule to apply as
ICMP Type 0 - Filter on - Lan server IP My default gateway -WAN User Any - Destination = my range
Nadda happens
help please

- Try enabling respond to ping on internet port.

I guess you missed this part  ;)

So it does not respond on the specified range? or any random IP?
Do you want the LAN to respond to the request? if yes.
make sure "Disable Ping reply on LAN ports" is unchecked.
