FVS336G - no web access after firmware upgrade
Hello - I've just upgraded the firmware to the latest version on a FVS336G and I can no longer get into the web access. After the "upgrade" the web browser didn't go back the netgear firewall webpage. It was left for 30 mins, and combinations of power on/offs and resets have been tried since but to no success. I can ping 192.168.1.1, when I try to access it gives me the usual security warning, which I accept, but I just get a blank page with "https://192.168.1.1/scgi-bin/index.htm" in the web address.
Is there anyway to update the firmware without the web access? Is there anything else I can try to unbrick this unit?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks, Chris
Kindly answer the questions below:
a. Have you tried to clear the cache on the browser then try to access the web-GUI of the FSV336Gv2?
b. What is the behavior of the LED lights of the FVS336Gv2?
c. Have you tried to using other PCs or laptops to access the web-GUI of the FSV336Gv2?

I can't recall, but I believe the fvs336 has a serial port to access it via a console. Have you tried that yet?
- lochnagarAspirantFvs336 v1 has a serial port, but it is a v2 that have which no longer has the serial port unfortunately. Any other thoughts much appreciated.

Hi DaneA,
Thanks for getting back, sorry for the delay in replying.
I tried a second computer and the GUI worked with that. The firmware did update did go through. I've subsequently tried on the orignal computer, and the GUI now works with that too.
So I'm left a bit confused as to why it didn't work originally, but happy that the unit isn't bricked. So thanks for your suggestion in trying another PC.

Chris
