FVS338 WAN Throughput restricted

Hi All,

I've recently had upgraded my adsl line to fibre with download speed of average 70Mbps but if I use my FVS338 router the download speed appears restricted to around 35Mbps, however if I use the router supplied by my ISP my speed shoots up to 70Mbps, so I can only assume the FVS338 is someway restricted.

My set up is:

BT OR Modem ----- FVS338 ----- Clients

Does anyone know if the FVS338 or in general the FVS products are restricted?

Thanks for any tips.

  • You have found the limits of what the FVS338 hardware can handle. You'll need a newer router if you want to see 70Mbps+.
  • All prosafe router from the netgears.com product page under spec will have "WAN-LAN throughput" spec so choose what you want.

also look Prosecure products as well.

    And your point is?

Next time be more polite and don't bother wasting your time replying to my post if you cannot be constructive. Thanks.

For all other users I have done a factory reset and can report that my throughput speeds hit what I expected around 69 Mbps - the only difference is I had 3 IKE policies which I suspect each are assigned bandwidth separately from the main LAN-WAN throughput.
  • Couldn't be any simpler. Don't understand your posting meant

Should define better. Don't halen someone because you did not explain it

VPN tunnel all has restriction in traffice. All other router has same spec
