I Need HELP!!!

I recently purchased a FVS336gv3 and have had nothing but sleepless nights since.  Here's the situation.

Former Setup

Zyxel VFG6005N Router (DHCP Server)

TP Link TL-SG2424 (Switch)

Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials (Domain Controller) (No DHCP Server)

Windows Server 2012 Standard (File/Media Server) (No DHCP Server)

2 Windows 10 Pro Pc's

Under the above mentioned setup with absolutley no modifications made to DNS or IP settings, I had continous access to the internet with no ineruptions whatsoever.

Since switching out the VG6005N and replacing it with the FVS336gv3, I've had nothing but issues when trying to open any web page.  I have tried forwarding ports on the router, adjusting IP adresses, adjsuting DNS Server IP's, playing the with DNS Server settings on the Domain controller, hours of searching on the internet when I could and so on.

I seem to be able to get intermittent access to the internet where I can open most any web page, then severeal minutes can go by and then I get nothing.

PLEASE HELP!!!

  • This sounds like the dns bug/issue.

    Check the following:

    - DNS proxy off

    - Block udp flood off (and any other block/attack checks off)

    - Assign the dns statically into the router

    Let us know what happens.

Awesome.  I hope you get the same rock-solid performance we have after making these changes.

    Hi djEnterprise,

As a follow-up, kindly answer the questions below:

    a. Have you tried to connect a PC directly to the FVS336Gv3 then observe the internet connection?

    b. What is the behavior of the WAN LED light and the port LEDs on the FVS336Gv3?

    c. What is the current firmware version of the FVS336Gv3?

    d. Have you tried to reboot the FVS336Gv3?

    e. Have you tried to reset the FVS336Gv3 back to factory default settings?

I look forward to your response.  Welcome to the community! :)
