SRX5308 too slow to manage a 100MB fiber ?
I got a SRX5308 router load balancing a 20 MB ADSL with a 100 MB symetrical fiber connection.
I've made so many test to finally think that it is the SRX5308 that is limiting the throughput to 35 MB average.
When connecting the modem (Orange Livebox) directly I always got 85 MB.
I think the specification are a bit confusing.

- aditMentorDid you bind HTTP and HTTPS to the 100Mb WAN port?
- steph762AspirantSure, I'm using http://www.speedtest.net to verify wich connection is active.
I've made a reset before upgrading and setting up back my router. But I've never been able to get a faster download through SRX5308.
Is somebody here can download at larger throughput than 33MB with SRX5308 ?
I'm guessing about the last firmware 4.x, does it change something ?
Somebody know about a challenging and faster product ? - jmizoguchiVirtuosoHave you tested with out load balance and test on WAN1 one by one and see the result you get?
- steph762Aspiranthello, thantks for your reply.
Sure I've tested with the Fiber only and ADSL only, when testing I tried every combination possible, without any rules in the router. I did my test overnight alone in the office.
17MB D/0,8MB U (normal) for my ADSL connection and 33MB D/30MB U max for the Fiber. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoby the way. without router and computer directly connected to fiber side download 100Mbps right?

Yes, no limitation when I'm connected directly on the modem, I'm able to download at max 92 MB/s and 89 MB/ upload average.
I get a little better (45 MB/s) deactivating Traffic Meter on this wan like I read in another post and I also uncheck TCP Flood in Security / Firewall / Attack Checks. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoConnection between the two is full duplex ?
- steph762AspirantSure, I 've checked and tried sometimes to force full Duplex on the router. Curiously performance are degraded when using Full Duplex forced, but it connect himself full duplex in automatic mode, even tested with a switch between modem and SRX.
- silvexAspirantI thought this was a 1Gbps (100MBs) of LAN-to-WAN throughput? It is only getting 35MBs (tops 45MBs with bandwith management?)
- steph762AspirantJust upgraded to 4.2.1 firmware. Yippee, problem almost solved.
I've been able to test just after reboot, 93 MB download and 45 MB upload !
A good progress.- steph762Aspirant
My fiber connection has been upgraded. 800 Mb/s download and 250 Mb/s upload. Verified connected directly to the box (847 download, 265 upload).
And the problem is still there. The SRX5308 should be able to manage 924 Mb/s (specifications).
The best I can test with the SRX5308 is 85 Mb/s download 95 Mb/s upload.
I confirm that I'm connected with Gigabit.
I have once again to downgrade the firmware to get back better results.
What happen with new firmware. There is so many bugs not corrected since so long.
Should I be a beta user all the live of this product ?
