WAN IPv6 Prefix Delegation doesn't work
I bought recently a new FVS328Gv2 as replacment for an older D-Link DIR-825. The FVS318Gv2 is connected to an AVM Fritz!Box 6490 which is the internet access router of my provider. The Fritz!Box 6490 allows to use a second router on its LAN side and offers an IPv6 subnet prefix via prefix delegation. This IPv6 prefix delegation has been working well with my DIR-825 so the Fritz!Box seams to be setup properly by me.
Let me now explain the steps taken with my new FVS328Gv2:
1. Unboxed the device and checked that it has FW Version 4.3.1-11
2. Upgraded to the latest version from netgear portal
3. Now the FVS328Gv2 is using FW Version 4.3.4-2
4. Setup IPv4 WAN via DHCP -> works fine
Fritz!Box 6490 delivers address, gateway and DNS to FVS328Gv2
Access to the internet is working and at good performance rate.
Fritz!Box 6490 has a static IPv4 route into my private LAN on FVS328Gv2.
5. Setup IPv6 WAN via DHCPv6 with IPv6 Prefix Delegation -> *** does not work ***
FVS328Gv2 gets an IPv6 address and gateway (the Fritz!Box 6490).
But WAN link status remains on 'connecting... ' and never ends.
Some time later it gets a primary DNS server (the Fritz!Box 6490).
But WAN link status remains on 'connecting... ' and never ends.
I never see a delegated prefix on the LAN configuration pages of the FVS328Gv2.
So I can't get IPv6 internet access from the LAN side of the FVS328Gv2.
The Fritz!Box does not offer static IPv6 routes so setup the FVS328Gv2 WAN manually will not work.
Note:
The Fritz!Box gets an IPv6 prefix of length 62 from my ISP. The former DIR-825 has been assigned properly a sub-prefix of the 63 by the Fritz!Box.
What am I doing wrong?
Hope for any help.
Thx Andreas
PS.: Here is the log of my changes on the FVS328Gv2 CLI:

Hi DaneA, dear community,
here some more update acc. to IPv6 prefix delegation on WAN side. The last problem I was struggeling around was, that I used a VLAN configuration on my FVS318Gv2 which was not compatible with IPv6 prefix delegation. I had some more disscusions with the help of NETGEAR support and figured out that delegated IPv6 prefixes are alway attached to VLAN1 the default VLAN.
I got the following advise from the support:
So if you are using prefix delegation, you accept that the subnet associated with the particoular hosts is always the same (and it should not be if you are using different VLANs). In our case, RADVD (Router Advertisement Daemon) is making the choice for us and it picks automatically VLAN 1 when he try to assign an IPv6 address to the clients. This done according to the standards that define RADVD.
So folks that all for this topic.
Which you you a pleasant new year.
Regards
Andreas

Ups found I a typo in my post.
This post relates to the Netgear FVS318Gv2 not FVS328Gv2 as I wrote in the text.
Sorry for that.

Hi AndiRauchhaus,
Were you able to access the article I've shared? Hope it helped.

Yes I was able to access your document. And I tried to follow precisly the the steps descibed.
1. Frist I did a factory reset of my FVS318Gv2 to remove my old setup.
2. Tested the IPv6 connectivity directly when connected on my Fritzbox 6490.
Result was all Ok with a score of 10/10 point. So all is well on my Fritzbox side.
3. Activated IPv4/IPv6 mode on the FVS318Gv2.
Result was a reboot as expected. So this step was OK.
4. Selected DHVPv6 on WAN settings with stateless autoconfiguration and prefix delegation as described by the document.
I got the same result as descibed above in my post. The WAN connection stayed on 'connecting ...'
FVS318Gv2> show net wan wan ipv6 status Broadband
IPv6 WAN1 Status

I don't know what's wrong. Try now to us the FVS318Gv2 in IPv4 mode only.
Are there any more experiences in connecting a FVS318Gv2 to a Fritzbox out there?
Here is my setup:
ISP <----> Fritzbox 6490 <----> FVS318Gv2
This line works fine on IPv4.
IPv6 is fine on the Fritzbox 6490 side but FVS318Gv2 does not get a IPv6 prefix delegation. Of course the Fritzbox 6490 is setup correctly as described by AVM to provide a second router. This worked well with my older DIR-825.
