access point WAC124
Hi Community,
First off i'm clueless with anything like this so any answers in simple to follow instructions please lol.
I have a BT router in my house which i've ran a cat6 cable from to a garden room 50m away, In the garden room i'd like wifi but also a TV ( doesn't have wifi ) hard wired with an ethernet cable.
My question is can i simply just plug in an access point, connect the cables and it will work without the need to set up ip adresses etc? If so will the wifi bit be secure and use the same password as the main BT router?
Many thanks
James

You can simply connect an access point.
You'll still need to go through the setup process but it isn't complicated.
That'd let you set the same ssid/password as the main home.
You'd just want to make sure to have the access point on a different wireless channel so if it does reach the house, it isn't creating interference with the home's wireless network.
