I downloaded it on my Windows computer and unzipped it. Still same issue. So this thing cannot update at all. I have already taken it out of Insight as it was added when I used the Netgear Switch Discovery Tool and I saw others suggesting to remove from this Insight discovery tool. So still no go.

Either way, MS108EUP_V1.0.1.6.zip -is- a zip archive indeed, containing the two files as shown before.
The extracted and stored file to be selected for upload is this one:
MS108EUP-V1.0.1.6-runtime.image
Amazing what overly smart desktop environments make out of file names.
The NSDT does not have any data storage, neither do these switches connect to Insight.

Yup, that is the correct filename that I tried to upload. still no update. So maybe this unit does not accept updates?

Looks perfectly correct, indeed. Still unclear if some Internet security wonder does block the file. no crappy Internet security software (except of the Microsoft Windows standard stuff) in place?
Restart the switch, just in case, check the IP address in case it's using DHCP, and retry.
Not that I expect a big difference: Dropping the browser cache does sometimes help, too.

schumaku - I will try anything. I have restarted the switch several times already even doing a factory reset. Since I have tried with 2 different platforms and no real other way of thinking about blocking something since the switch does restart after the attempted update, which I know it does restart because I do loose connectivity, so I don't think this is not the issue. But will try those suggestions from you just to be sure, like clearing caches on browser, using different browsers, and such. This is just so strange.
