OTP Security for Browser Admin Accounts
I use a NetGate router with one port dedicated to the WAX610.
I do that so i can impose firewall rules to limit mobile access to the rest of our LAN.
Does anyone know if NetGear plans to add MFA to the browser based admin & user accounts of its access points?
Please don't send me to Insight. I want to reduce my attack surface, not increase it.

Something to contact NG support about and see if they have that plan.
Most web based access doesn't have MFA features on most NG products due to it being a LAN side managed use by local users. Probably something that doesn't need MFA features.

Thank you FURRYe38,
I'll do that. I'm hoping that if they have a plan, it's simply a firmware update.
I've since found out that Ubiquiti & other mfg's offer W6 with admin MFA or at least allow use of Radius or other servers to implement MFA.
NG needs to see that the moat/castle approach to cybersec is inadequate to take on the AI & Quantum dark goliaths.

Nothing that stops you from operating an industry standard RADIUS server infrastructure, and extend it with any kind of 2FA or MFA solution. There is no change required on the RADIUS side of APs. switches. or routers. Just an extended MFA capable supplicant on your workstations, mobile devices.
The only question to Netgear is on how to enable RADIUS based authentication for the device administration - ideally based on a user group (instead of the hard coded "admin" username) 8-)
