WAC104 dropping connections, incorrect password

Hi,

we have setup multiple WAC104s in different classrooms of our school, all connected to our central router. After some time, we seem to experience problems with our WiFi connections on all of them. Clients are disconnected and cannot connect anymore. The logs show many entries like the following where a device connects successfully, only to be thrown out a few seconds later du to "incorrect security":

[WLAN access rejected: incorrect security] from MAC address 4c:xx:xx:xx:xx:d7, Friday, October 28,2022 11:49:05
[WLAN connection] (4c:xx:xx:xx:xx:d7) had associated successfully, Friday, October 28,2022 11:49:02

After restarting the AP, it works fine again until the problem starts anew. Usually, not too many clients are connected at the same time, the problem seems to surface even with only nine or ten devices connected.
We have tried many proposed solutions, installed the newest firmware (upgrading from 1.0.4.17 to 1.0.4.21, using DHCP vs static IP, alternately enabling and disabling 2.4 and 5 GHz radios, choosing different security options, setting manual vs. automatic channel selection... nothing made any difference.

Even when it works properly, the attached devices list shows many wired connections, but always only one wireless device, regardless how many are connected according to the log.

Some helpful hints would be much appreciated.

If all the AP's are having issues, I'd be looking at whats controlling them (the central router)

Since the problem does not appear in some other WAPs (HP, Unifi) we have in the same environment, I don't think the problem has to do with our router. Especially since the WAC104s "regenerate" themselves after rebooting them and begin to accept connections until they seem to get "saturated" (?) again at some point. There are no IP address conflicts and there are plenty IP addresses available in our dynamic address pool at any given time
