WAC740 work without wireless controller
I am planning to get a WAC740 with a Cisco PoE router (RV345P). Can I directly connect the WAC740 with RV345P without any wireless controller.
many thanks

Hi murphyto,
Welcome to the community! :)
The WAC740 cannot be configured as a standalone access point. It is designed to be managed using a NETGEAR wireless controller (such as the WC7500, WC7600 or WC9500).
Since you need a standalone access point, you may want to check the WAC510 or WAC505 access points. Both of these access points supports the IEEE802.11ac Wave 2 standard and it can be managed either through its web-GUI or via the Insight App. For more information about the WAC510 or WAC505 access points as well as its comparison to other NETGEAR ProSAFE access points, kindly check their data sheet here.

It's a little bit amazing Netgear does still not offer a 802.11ac 4 x 4 Wave 2 AP with local and "ensemble" management - especially considering the WAC740 very premium price tag.
I'm aware there are some lower cost 802.11ac 4 x 4 Wave 2 AP in the pipeline for complementing WAC510/WAC505 line - but this should have made it to the market a longer time ago, as the new standards are waiting around the door.
