WAX206 internet connection lost after accessing router login page
Like the title says, anytime I access the router setup page to make a change, I lose internet. All of the LED indicators show normal, (power, internet signal, data). I can connect directly to the modem via Ethernet cable and access the internet. I would prefer not to reset to factory default settings, as I will lose any changes I’ve made.
For reference, the changes I made, were adding websites that I want to block to the security section. In particular, Samsung tv ad urls.

What firmware version do you have on the WAX206?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

The WAX206 is a wireless access point. Are you running it in router mode?
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities
or, more likely:
Business Wireless - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.- BTEAspirant
The firmware is up to date, according to the router.
I would like to provide an update as to why the router was not broadcasting internet.
I had listed the websites that I would like to block under Advanced->Security->Block services. I listed them as user defined TCP/UDP, on all ports (1-65535). The procedure found on page 83 of the user manual.
Once I either deleted each website, or chose "Never" under when to block, the internet service began working. This leads me to believe I have done something in error when trying to block the Ad sites. I would love to know how I can add these sites to the router to prevent the ads on my TV.

Don't understand what you understand as "broadcasting Internet". You might have added service blocks including any port, for TCP and UDP.

Doing so this does almost certainly prohibit any common Internet access - so this might be what you experience.

Only http based ads could be trapped - the router can't get insight on the URL requested in https.
