RS700 randomly lose Internet connection
I’ve been using the RS700 router for about two weeks. Everything was fine at the beginning, but recently it started to randomly lose Internet connection.
Here’s what happens:
- The Internet suddenly disconnects while in use
- The Internet LED does not turn amber immediately — there is a short delay/gap before it finally turns amber
- Rebooting the router or applying any setting will immediately restore the connection
- The issue occurs randomly and frequently
The modem and ISP connection seem stable. It looks like the problem is happening inside the RS700.
Firmware versions tested (same issue on both):
- V1.0.9.16
- V1.0.9.6
Is this a known issue?
Any suggestions for troubleshooting or a temporary fix?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Using ISP Detected DNS or custom DNS?
Is IPv6 and Protection Engine enabled on the RS router?
Huawei OptiXstar HN8250Ts-20.
Tried ISP Detected DNS and custom DNS, currently using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
IPv6 is disabled but not seeing protection engine on the portal, seems protection engine is part of NETGEAR Armor? I have just disabled it.
For similar issues would be solved with trial fw
