Well, I took the plunge and just mounted it.
I had to Dremel off the rail plastic from the mounting bracket shown in the drawing with red arrows. This allowed for flush mounting of the bracket to the ceiling. Otherwise, these plastic protrusions make the installation unstable and "rocky".
I also did feel it necessary to use the mounting bracket rather than direct mounting the AP to the ceiling for 2 reasons: ventilation and less stress on the 90 degree cable turn connection.
It took some guess work to figure where on the ceiling to screw the mounting bracket RELATIVE to the cat6 cable's appearance because the AP snaps into place AFTER the bracket is affixed and AFTER the cat6 cable is brought down through the ceiling. Again, i recommend that NG provides a paper template to avoid the guess work.
And i don't understand why railing lastic is provided on both of the provided mounting brackets. Perhaps a different bracket design just for flush mounting?
To me, it looks ok. I used a standard round black cat 6 and nail polish to match the white ceiling. If i had to do it over again, I'd suggest a "flat" cat 6 so it could make make a more graceful 90 degree turn into the AP. Also, get a cable color that approximates the ceiling paint color.
I hope that this might help others in the future.
