WAX610 Slow
I bought 2, one for house and the other for the man-cave. They arrived today. I have synchronous gigabit (fiber) internet. Hardwired speed test using fast.com shows about 900Mbps each direction. Using the Insight built in speed test (Ookla in photo below) I'm getting around 920Mbps each direction.
The wifi is pretty slow, definitely not what the specs claim it should be. 170Mbps down and 180Mbps up. This is the same on both Netgear devices. I've performed the speed test in both my phone (connected 5.4G) and my Macbook Pro (also 5.4G). I'm standing within 5 feet of either device when performing the tests.
I have actual fiber coming in to the house and the WAP's are connected directly to the modem, no additional switch.
My devices seem to disconnect frequently. As of right now, 25 devices are online on the house WAP, 2 offline. At any time I'll check and most will be disconnected with only a few connected.
Suggestions? I'm going to have to return them if I cannot get this resolved.

Hello Smears
Could you please share below details.
1. Clients details, in which client seeing less speed, like Client Model, version and make etc.
2. Access Point configuration, details like SSID level configurations channel, bandwidth, Vlan and If any rate limit configuration
3. If possible Netgear insight account details, You can dm me account details. Thanks,
Basavaraj
- SmearsTutorSorry for the really late response. They are configured as they came out of the box, with only an SSID configured. Nothing else was changed from factory setting.
When I power on the AP it will get amazing speeds (400Mbps+) but then the AP goes in to its configuration mode (2.4 and 5 lights blank out for about 30 seconds), and when it finishes I get about 200Mbps. My internet connection is 1Gbps. The AP's test (using insight app) at about 920Mbps... so I know they're getting full bandwidth via hardwire.
