WC7520 w/ WNDAP360's - firmware update sequence
I'm getting ready to apply firmware updates to my WC7520/WNDAP360 wireless system. I've downloaded the 2.5.0.42 firmware for the controller, but its release notes say the firmware on the AP's must be at least version 3.5.20.0. At the moment the AP's are running version 2.5.0.39_1590. The AP firmware release notes state that in order to update the AP firmware to a 3.x version, they must be at version 2.1. Do I need to roll back the AP's to 2.1, or will the 3.5.20.0 upgrade work for the AP's without a rollback?
Hello SidS,
Welcome to the community!
There is no need for a rollback. When an APs are connected to a controller, its maintenance and upgrade are centralized and managed by the controller. It is using a special firmware (Thin Firmware) pushed by the controller. What you are looking at (FW 3.5.20.0) is a standalone firmware.
Thanks,
