All 8 WAX610 show as disconnected

I am in the process of setting up our new Insight controlled WiFi environment using 8 WAX610's. We are replacing a Cisco WAP561 cluster that is showing it's age. Everything seemed to be going fine until I found the Troubleshoot tab and tried to run a Speedtest on all of the AP's. No clients yet, just getting familiar with the equipment and the interface. Five to ten minutes after the tests supposedly started all 8 AP's dropped out of the cloud. The Power LED is slow amber, the LAN LED is rapid amber, and the 2.4 and 5 LED's are solid green. I tried removing one of the AP's, resetting to factory, and rejoining the AP. It seemed to work for a minute until (conjecture) it reloaded it's config from Insight. It then went into the same mode as before - same lights, dropped from cloud.

Anyone ever run across something similar? I have support and will open a ticket tomorrow but just curious if anyone has seen behavior like this before.

    BuzznRI,

    Welcome to the community!

Usually, if the power LED blinks amber slowly annd continuously, it indicates that the AP didn't receive an IP address from the DHCP server.

However, this issue occurred after you have access to the admin page of the access point.

That being said, have you tried updating one of the access points to its latest firmware (which is v10.3.0.7) to see if that'll resolve the issue?

    Regards,

Hello JeraldM - I had already updated all 8 to 10.3.0.7 before even setting up any SSID's. I just got off of the phone with support and the case has been escalated. The AP works fine if I wipe it and run it solo, but picks up it's old config when added to Insight and returns to it's same behavior.

I'll keep the thread updated but I wouldn't be surprised if there is soon a 10.3.0.8 🙂

Just an update - I still haven't heard back from support but I have figured out a workaround. If I remove an AP from Insight, factory reset it, start it in solo mode, change it to Insight managed, and add it to a DIFFERENT location with a different name it connects normally.
