Abnormal delay in pinging the gateway ip through WAN 2.5G port.
Hello When my SXR80 WAN 2.5G port is connected to the ISP's gateway, the computer is connected to the LAN through the cable, and then the latency is very unstable when pinging the ISP's gateway ip o...

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Hello FURRYe38
I used CAT6A cable and the problem persists.
The ISP modem is a ZTE, model ZXHN-F4600T.
Also have a Netgear R7000 as an uplink gateway with the same problem.
However only the 2.5G port is experiencing problems.

Both the R7000 as well as the ZTE ZXHN-F4600T have only GbE interfaces, no MultiGig or 2.5 GbE capable. Does the SXR show a GbE link speed on that SXR 2.5G WAN interface?

Hello schumaku
I don't understand what it means to show GbE link speed on the SXR 2.5G WAN interface.
Does it mean selecting port 1 (2.5G) or port2 (1G) in the WAN settings?
What is MultiGig? What does it do? Shouldn't 2.5G interfaces be downward compatible with Gigabit ports in general? thanks.

What mode is the ISP gateway working in? Router or has it been bridged?
What CAT# LAN cable are you using between the ISP Gateway and the SXR router? CAT6A STP would be recommended when connecting on 2.5Gb ports.
Any chance you can test the SXR at a different location with a different ISP modem or gateway to see if problem follows?

Hello FURRYe38
The ISP gateway is only allowed to use the router.
The ISP gateway and the SXR router were previously being used with CAT6A LAN cables.
Have tested 2 different ISP gateways and a Netgear R7000 gateway, the problem is the same and the problem occurs on WAN Port1 (2.5G) and is normal when switching to WAN port2 (1G).- FURRYe38Jul 15, 2024Guru - Experienced User
So the R7000 exhibits the same problem when connected to the ISP gateway?
Are you using the ISP gateways DMZ or IP-pass thru for the SXR router?
So if you select 1Gb on the SXR for the WAN connection, no abnormal delay is seen with the SXR connected to the ISP Gateway?
