Creating WAN failover
I'm trying to create a WAN failover, as the cable internet connection from my ISP fails occasionally. Currently I have the following set up. As a modem I am using a Fritzbox 6690 cable modem, which i...

As you suggested, I hooked up the Edgerouter X between my two ISP's and the SRX80. Configured port 1 and 2 on the Edgerouter X as WAN connections for the ISP's, port 0 should go to LAN. Should I then run an ethernet from port 0 on the Edgerouter X to the WAN port of the SRX80 router or to one of the LAN ports? Because I'm not getting an internet connection, although both ISP's seem to be working fine on the Edgerouter X.

I'm not a edgeroutex expert so their forums might be good. but if the SXR is in AP mode, it should be running from the edgerouter to the wan port on the SXR.

So far, no luck to get it up and running smoothly 🥴 I've searched in different forums and on Youtube, but so far I can't find an explanation on how to set it up with an existing router such as the SXR80 in between it. The SXR80 doesn't seem to accept the WAN connection from the Edgerouter X. I'm under the impression there's an IP conflict somewhere, now its the challenge to find out where the IP conflict is 😅

Not sure what you mean by the sxr in between it. The sxr should be at the end of the chain. After the edgerouter.
One benefit is that the edgerouter sounds new and ubiquiti has been known for solid support. Might contact them about getting the dual wan setup properly
- AlbertMartinSep 26, 2023GuideI mean, I want a fail over wan capable device but I only want that… the router function I want is the ORBI, not the edge.
That been said, your problem, and what I cant find a solution for, is that you have the edge and the Orbi both functioning as router and that will definitely create an IP conflict because both devices are assigning IPs. The only way is that you have to give up using Orbi as a router and set it as access point only (AP mode).
