You have convinced me. With the SXR router connected directly to the ISP router, then WiFi speed through the Orbi router should be almost identical to WiFi speed through the ISP.
How "new"? The SXR30 package comes with Netgear's traditional 90 days of 'complimentary support'

This appears to be an ideal question to put to Netgear support by registering the product and then asking them "What's THIS???"
