SXR50 tagged VLANs for SSIDs and AP mode
Hi,
I'm trying to setup my SXR50 in AP mode to work with a managed TP-LINK switch to have 3 SSIDs available for HOME, STAFF and GUESTS. Each of these SSIDs would have a tagged VLAN.
So:
1) I configured my vlans on my managed TP-LINK switch
2) I created VLAN profiles on my SXR50
3) I assigned my VLAN profiles to each SSIDs
4) I setted VLAN profile "1(Default)" and mode "Trunk" to SXR50 WAN port
5) I connected the SXR50 WAN port to my managed TP-LINK switch
But when a client connects to wifi, it does not receive any IP. When I disable the VLAN profiles and I sets a PVID on the port of the managed TP-LINK switch, the client have an IP.
What is the problem ?
Sorry for the question I'm a newbee.
Is not an Orbi requirement, its the concept of vlans. Imagine each Vlan as separate LAN with a different network range. The benefit is that you can use a single port or switch to manage several networks. I forgot to mention that the ports connecting the firewall to the switch and the switch to the Orbi must be configured as Trunks.

I think you missed the firewall configuration. DHCP must be configured for each vlan.

Yes, is your firewall the DHCP server? It supports VLAN?
