SXR80 and SXS80 Firmware update question to 4.2.3.102

Hi! Loving the AX6000 system.

The Insight app said the new firmware version was available. The Insight cloud website also said the new firmware version was available.

When I hit the Update button in either, I keep getting an error message immediately that says "A network error has occurred. Try again in a few minutes." This has been going on for a couple of days.

When I log into the router directly via the web interface and go to firmware, it says there is no new firmware available. When I click on the check for updates button, it says there is no firmware available.

When I go to the Netgear website to the product page for the SXR80, the new firmware version 4.2.3.102 is available for download for both the router and satellite.

I assume it's natural at this point for me to be confused about reality related to a new firmware version.

I assume that is really does exist, but that automatic processes for installation have been disabled for some reason? And if that is so, should I wait before trying a manual install because it might be buggy, and that's why the automatic process has been "blocked"?

Thanks for the info!

Mark

  • Yes! It appears that disabling the VLAN feature on Wireless Network 3 (unchecking the box and hitting Apply), waiting for the router to restart, then going back and re-enabling the VLAN feature on Wireless Network 3, fixes the connectivity issues associated with Wireless Network 3 internet connectivity issues mentioned in the firmware release notes.

All better now. Thanks yet again!

    Mark

    seatek,

    Welcome to the community!

Just to verify, what's the current firmware of the SXR80 and SXS80?

If possible, please try rebooting the system as well and try updating again via NETGEAR Insight (either app or cloud portal).

    Regards,

      Hi Jerald!

That would be firmware version 4.2.2.130

It did update once to this 4.2.2.130 version after I first bought and set up the router/satellite pair. And there it's sat until I got an email from Insight notifying me of the new version.

I just checked again in the local web interface, and it says "No new firmware version available."

        seatek,

        Thanks for the update!

And to confirm, the local web interface still says "no new firmware version available" even after restarting the router, right?

        Regards,
