RBR750/RBS750 Firmware Question
Hi All,
Have the RBR750/RBS750 system. The Orbi app does not work on my Android phone, just a white screen. Support stated my firmware is not up to date on my systems, so probably that is why app is failing to connect. I've been doing the firmware check for months now and it comes up with no update available.
Currently the devices are at v4.6.11.1. Supported pointed me to the page to manually download and install the latest version 7.2.8.5.
The question, will I have any issues jumping from where I am now to the latest version? Or do I incremental upgrades starting from the current version which would be 10 updates?
Appriciate the assistance.
Thanks!
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

I believe you can just go directly to the latest firmware. It is absolutely critical that the satellite(s) are updated before the router.

Try the direct update. If it fails, go back 3-4 versions and try it. Just make sure to do the satellites first.

Thank for the replies. I did not know you can go back a few versions. I was thinking after posting this, perhaps jump to the last v4.x version, first v7.x, then latest v7. I missed calculated as I doubled counted the firmware versions. I'm behind 5 version for both router and satellites.

Did you get it working?

Hi plemans,
I tried the online update again, but it failed. Therefore I took a conserative approach and late last night upgraded to the last v4.x version. My plan tonight is to install the first v7.x version and when that is done, jump to the lastest version. I'm an old IT guy, so did not want to jump to the latest as there could be prerequisites between last v4 and first v7. I've seen stuff go sideways with jumping upgrades at times. :-)
On the other hand, the Orbi app on my phone now connects to the router, so at least that is working now.
Thanks for checking in. Once I'm at the latest I will post here.

Thanks all for your help. I'm happy to say I'm now at V7.2.8.5 for my router and satellites.
