Netgear Genie v. 2.4.3 for iOS 10

Having a few problems with the Network Map.

1) The iOS app does not see the saved changes made on the Netgear R7800 web interface.  So its like starting from scratch when you use the iOS mobile app.  This would be just an inconvenience if the app would save the changes you make to the Network Map, but it doesn't.  Any changes made to the network devices (name, type, etc..) do not get saved when exiting.  Not sure if it ever did, but it should at least save the changes and them store them off in iCloud data so if you switch devices from iPhone to iPad they will appear across devices if it can't read the changes from the R7800 directly.

2) In the release notes for Genie v 2.4.3 on iOS it said that the icon for the R7800 was changed to reflect the device.  While this is true on the iPad, it is not true for the iPhone version.

I have downloaded the latest release 2.4.34 and it is still a problem.  I have also tried deleting the app and reinstalling, but this did not fix any of these problems.

    Hi Zonker,

    1. This is a limitation of the app since the changes (name, device type, etc.) are saved on the device only and is not synced up to the web UI and/or any other device in the network.

    2. Let me check on this.

It does not even save them on the device.  Each time you open the network map it defaults to the same name, device type, etc.. as before changes were made.  Looks like a bug

        Hi Zonker,

        1. Please try updating to the latest version (2.4.38) of the iOS app.

        2. I have done my own tests and did not encounter any issues. I was able to modify the device names on the network map and did not lose it even after logging out then back in again using iOS version 10.0.2 and genie versions 10.4.34 and 10.4.38. The device names did sync across the devices in the network.

        3. As for the R7800 icon on the Network Map, we will be checking with engineering regarding this.

        Regards,
