Nighthawk cax80 and nighthawk app
I was having a big problem with not being able to login with the router’s credentials VIA THE NIGHTHAWK APP. I checked to make sure that my login and pw were correct in the router - they were( I could directly access the router via a web browser and the i.p.address of 192.168.1.1 ) . I did a complete factory reset and started over … NO LUCK .. finally I DELETED ANY VPN ‘S on my APPLE phone ( I had two) sure enough the nighthawk app IMMEDIATELY STARTED to login in and has worked flawlessly. I have stopped and started several times and it really is WORKING .. so DISABLE YOUR VPN’S ..,nighthawk app does not seem to like them

Possible some VPNs block how NH app works to connect and thus shouldn't be used. Default for NG mobile apps is Anywhere Access which needs WAN side internet resources. VPNs can hide or block this for NGs mobile apps.
Local Access on the mobile app is more direct from mobile device to the modem when your at home.
- manfred1953AspirantSince one of the vpn’s was NETGEAR’s VPN you would think netgear would KNOW this but having looked at all the solutions from netgear concerning this ..NOPE not a peep .and I’ve seen several users experiencing the same problems I was having , it was worth putting out there to inform everyone… .
