Parental controls for individual devices only works on IOS
Parental controls are working when set as a default policy and I am able to change the policies to recieve different results. I would like to set my default policy as restrictive and manage specific devices for less restrictive policies. I can seem to be able to control IOS devices specifically. I cannot control Windows 10 or Android devices. It doesn't matter if they are configured for DHCP or static addresses. I have tried from multiple devices and have had no luck. It seems like both Windows 10 and later versions of Andriod will not accept policy based filtering. Is this a known bug or is there a KB article on how to fix this? I also cannot log into my openDNS account from the netgear genie app through parental controls but it works fine on IOS and PC. I have tried resetting the router, disabling parental controls, access control, etc., etc.. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi morgnstern,
1. Are you using the per device filtering describe in the KB article linked below?
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29913
2. On which device/s are you not able to login to your OpenDNS account through the app/program?
3. What version of the app/program do you have installed?
4. What is the firmware version of the router?

Dexter,
1. Yes
2. My Android (Samsung S7) Android version 6.0.1, App version 2.4.38
3. R8000, Firmware version V1.0.3.4
From my phone, via the network map, I cannot change my filtering level by device. The option is no longer there. When it was, it didn't let me, I just got an error "failed to set parental controls". Other devices it would, such as my Ipad. Also from the phone, when I go to parental controls, it prompts me to log in to the router, then it prompts me to log into OpenDNS, and I cannot get past that login prompt. From my PC I can, on my ipad I can. From my Ipad I can change the filtering level of my ipad, but not my phone. From my Ipad, I can logon to my bypass account, from my PC I cannot. My phone doesn't get far enough into parental controls to even have the option.
On a side note, I noticed I can set filtering at the "Opendns.com" Cisco Umbrella site by managing my personal network and I can also set it at netgear.opendns.com. It seems like the Cisco Umbrella site takes presidence. Should one be used and not the other?
Thank you for looking into this.

Hi morgnstern,
Thank you for providing the details.
We recommend using the filtering settings set via the NETGEAR Genie app/program which is in sync with the one in netgear.opendns.com. Your settings via the Cisco site may be conflicting/affecting how the NETGEAR filter functions.
