7 TopicsAlternative to the Nighthawk App?
Is there one? Can I connect my laptop to the Ethernet port and use an HTTP or SSH or something connection to setup my AX1600? I have spent hours trying to get the Android app to do it and, from looking at the other messages on this site, the App is broken. If I can't get it working in the next few days the AX1600 is going back to the store tagged "defective".33Views0likes3CommentsForced to use Nighthawk app to set up new hardware and it sucks out loud
I tried to set up the modem/router manually, following the printed instructions to the letter. No good. Had to download the app, which I wanted to avoid for precisely the experience I had. Who wrote this app? Did ANYONE test it? Maddening. Wanders in circles. I finally called the support number, waited on hold, someone with an accent that suggested they were Not From Around Here answer and my call was immediately cut off. I am livid.81Views1like3CommentsUnable to connect to router remotely
RAX30 — Nighthawk AX5 5-Stream AX2400 WiFi 6 Router I have tried numerous time to connect to the router remotely and it's been unsuccessful. When I say 'remotely' I mean trying to connect to the router with the app when I'm not home, using the same network as the router. I've tried with the app and with a browser as well. According to everything I've read, enabling the 'Anywhere Access' on the app is all that's needed. Yes, 'Anywhere Access' is enabled on the app. Yes, the router has been updated to the latest firmware (v1.0.14.108). I'm using Spectrum home internet.70Views0likes3CommentsParental controls for individual devices only works on IOS
Parental controls are working when set as a default policy and I am able to change the policies to recieve different results. I would like to set my default policy as restrictive and manage specific devices for less restrictive policies. I can seem to be able to control IOS devices specifically. I cannot control Windows 10 or Android devices. It doesn't matter if they are configured for DHCP or static addresses. I have tried from multiple devices and have had no luck. It seems like both Windows 10 and later versions of Andriod will not accept policy based filtering. Is this a known bug or is there a KB article on how to fix this? I also cannot log into my openDNS account from the netgear genie app through parental controls but it works fine on IOS and PC. I have tried resetting the router, disabling parental controls, access control, etc., etc.. Any help is much appreciated. -Chris4.3KViews0likes4Comments
