MR80 unable to communicate with router to manually update firmware
My MR80 recently bricked with corrupted firm ware. Exterior light is blinking white. I've tried cycling it on and off and verified the cables I use are good. Factory reset pressed when the router is ...

So after 10 second press and release and waiting a minute or two, you can't access 192.168.1.1 on a wired PC connected in back?
Might give a 30-30-30 reset process a try...I happened to run into this on my MR60 while updating from old FW to newest, it did something to the MR and a normal reset didn't work when a 30 30 30 did. I found the middle ground FW and updated to that then finally got latest version of FW to load.
- MompeaFeb 20, 2023AspirantI hadn't heard of the 30-30-30 reset method but gave it a go multiple times but unfortunately I get the same behavior as before. While pressing the reset the light is solid for 5 seconds then starts blinking white for 10, switches to solid amber for 10 and then goes back to blinking white. (Blinking white being when my computer won't recognize the connection)
And yes, I've got the PC wired via Ethernet to the router for the connection.
Thanks for the suggestion- FURRYe38Feb 20, 2023Guru - Experienced User
Not that this would matter, however the WHITE LED is for status on the MR and eventually gives the status of the MR connected to the ISP modem. Not the connected PC.
However that being said, the MR doesn't require the ISP modem to be connected to the MR if you want to set it up off line.
Seems like of the 10 second or a 30-30-30 reset isn't getting you into the setup wizard at 192.168.1.1, sounds like the MR is some bad state.
I'd open a support ticket and get help on this as something happend to the MR. Not in a good state.

One last thing to try:
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
Need to press the reset button for 30 seconds then release, then it send to PUT the command and upload the FW.
Make sure you enable tftp: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
Video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done:

I had a problem on a Windows 10 PC where this didn't work to use TFTP, so I switched to a Windows 7 PC and the TFTP worked.Apple Mac TFTP: https://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0001247
Try nmrpflash:
