NIGHTHAWK Mesh Wifi 6 Router MR60 red light

I'm required to have Ethernet connection for work. I use TP AV1000 Powerline Ethernet Adapter PA7017 KIT plugged into work laptop Ethernet cable and the other adapter plugged into Netgear FS105 ProSAFE 5 Port 10 100

Switch

Spectrum Modem seems to be working fine as the Power, Online and Voice are all blue lit when I'm using Ethernet. I don't see any wire from our Modem connected to the Mesh WiFi.

On NIGHTHAWK Mesh WiFi 6 Router, the internet cord is hooked up to Netgear FS105 ProSafe Switch and the DC is plugged to GE outlet

The issue is every time the work laptop uses Ethernet connection, our NIGHTHAWK Mesh Wifi 6 Router MR60 turns red and then no one in the household can use Wi-Fi, I'm the only one able to use the internet via Ethernet connection.

Once done work, I'll unplug Ethernet adapters, reset modem and router, the Wi-Fi will work again and the mesh router turns to blue light.

What is causing the NIGHTHAWK Mesh to turn red and stop working while I'm using Ethernet connection? What do I need to change?

make sure the modem is hardwared to the MR60's wan port. Then run from LAN port from the MR60 to the switch and other device. Spectrum only allows 1 public IP address. That should be assigned to the router with the router then assigning private IP address (simplified). IF the work laptop is using that public IP address with the modem being connected to the switch, then the router doesn't get one and only 1 device works.

What is this Spectrum Modem? Is it also a router?

The normal layout for a network would be:

modem > router > switch > everything else.

The Powerline adapter could go into the switch or the router.

To use the MR60 "downstream" from the switch, try putting it onto access point mode. This would then let the Spectrum Modem control in the network.

The big issue here is that the FS105 is an old (2004) switch. The ports are specified for 100 Mbps LAN. This will slowdown anything behind them.  That includes the  MR60, which offers  1000 Mbps.

I do believe it just a modem, I was under the assumption the NIGHTHAWK Mesh WiFi 6 Router was our router no?

the power line Ethernet adapter kit,  Spectrum Modem and the internet on the Mr60 are all currently hooked up to the Netgear port  Switch

like I said my work computer is currently working just fine via Ethernet, but right now the WiFi is not working which I’m puzzled as to why not

        Looks like it.

        That's the problem.

As plemans says, plug (hardwire) the Internet socket from the MR60 into the modem. Then plug the switch into an Ethernet port on the MR60.

Instead, you could plug the Powerline plug into the MR60 and then connect the switch to that to add more ports. But whatever you plug into the switch is going to be slower than the rest of the network.

That switch is ancient. If any other device on the network can handle 1000 Mbps, the switch will throttle it. Any laptop built on the past decade or so will be faster than that switch.

        Time to buy something newer?
