(logs) Internet going out once a day

Every day I get one time where the internet comes in and out, Ive talked to my isp they said its not from them and it might be due to something with the firewall in the router setting off the dos attacks falsey. I play cod most of the time it happens.

problem: Internet goes out and on and out and on a lot in the spand of 5 min then is fine
logs from when it goes out : 18:39 is when it happened i believe, just wanted to show the events before the crash

FOUND THE SOLUTION turn off ddos protection on the router it was giving false reports and causing a issue. I'm haven't had a problem since my last comment on the thread! and that's unheard of before I would have had at least once a day now none!

  • It is unlikely that is the cause unless Facebook is attacking you which is doubtful. How often do you experience this happening? Does it happen across all devices?

The net goes down once a day but on the router uts self doesn't say so, so I think its like a bunch of packet miss fires causing me to disconnect from discord on my second pc and also lag out the game of cod on the gaming pc

The net goes down once a day but on the router it's self doesn't say so(no amber led on router), so I think its like a bunch of packet miss fires causing me to disconnect from discord on my second pc and also lag out the game of cod on the gaming pc. I don't know if it happens to wireless wifi due to me using ethernet when it happens on both pcs. I also for got to say i have a s8000 plugged into the router for more ethernet ports

What is your exact physical setup? I.e. what is the XR connected to - is it a modem/router or just a modem?
  • I just looked at my logs and mine are the same. Same weird attack and I too experience my connection throughout the house dropping. First noticible on my Google Nest Hub. I see it trying to connect to network a few times a day.

Setup: XR1000 (running latest firmware), ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1, Gigabit Connection via COX

I've factory reset this thing at least twice in the last 3 days. I've checked internet connect without the router and it's perfectly fine. No drops on my PC to Modem connection. But as soon as I plug the XR1000 back in...everything is fine for about 30 mins or and then randomly devices disconnect.

In my home a good indicator that it's happening is again is the:

Google Nest Hub (needing to reconnecting)

Logitech Harmony Hub (green light goes red indicating internet goes down)

My Samsung Note10+ (Wifi-6 icon goes away and is blinking and then showing 5G)

Wife's Ipad 11 Pro (everything shows no connection)

What's weird in this as well is I have three ROKU devices and none of them appear to loose connection while streaming.

I've tried a series of things,

SmartConnect On, MIMO off, OFDMA On (2.5, 5g)

SmartConnect On, MIMO On, OFDMA Off (2.5, 5g)

SmartConnect Off, MIMO Off, OFDMA On (2.5, 5g)

SmartConnect Off, MIMO Off, OFDMA Off (2.5, 5g)

All end up in the same result...$350 Connection killer.

I am yes. When I first got mine around Oct 4th it downloaded and installed that update on initial setup.
