Nighthawk pro gaming xr500-100nas router No internet after power disruption
After a power failure, my router does not have internet connection. I need to unplug router for 15 seconds then power it back up for it to work. Since my security cameras need the internet to work, I need to travel back to my vacation home and reset the router (4000 mi. round trip). Is there a way to delay the router until my modem completes it's boot up sequence? I believe the router boot sequence is too fast for my modem. My modem is a Spectrum EU2251 DOCSIS3.1

There isn't a built in way.
But a half decent power supply to put them on might be a good option for next time.
You might be able to call your ISP and have them remote reboot (or even through their online portal?) the modem.
Maybe if the router is already booted and the modem reboots, it might pull a new ip address. (might take a bit though)

I could keep my modem on a ups to weather the storm. The issue is when they both boot together or when I just reboot the modem.
Thank you.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
I've also noticed this when I bring my XR450 online. After power cycling the ISP modem, the XR fails to connect until the XR is rebooted afterwards once more, then the XR connects. Been like this since I got it. Not sure if this was intended or is a bug. I would consider this a bug as other NG routers don't exhibit this issue.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerNo not specifically unfortunately, the only suggestion I could give for when this happens would be to get a modem/router instead of the EU2251 if possible. Then connect that to a smart plug, have the XR500 on a separate smart plug with both smart plugs connected to the modem/router. That way you could reboot them separately remotely, in which case reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes then reboot the XR500.

I thought of that. I could use the xr500-100nas as an extender then. I was just wondering if you were familiar with this models settings. I thought there might be a setting that would slow down the boot process if that was possible.- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThere is not unfortunately, sorry to say!
