Opening Port for Arlo

We've recently purchased an Arlo security system.  Unfortunately, it appears as though the Arlo system won't stay connected to the router.  After mulitple conversations with Arlo and Netgear, I've discovered that i need to open the ports.  I believe i have the settings, but when i try to add the custom service under port forwarding, I get a message that won't allow me to make changes.   (The specified ports are being used by other configurations.) I've been on hold for help with Netgear almost 2 hours now...not sure if anyone knows I'm on the line.  Can anyone help? Thank you

  • I'd first try disabling Smart Connect for WiFi and manually connecting it to 2.4 or 5GHz as that might be the culprit. UPnP should open the ports that are needed so not sure that's the cause, what are the ports that have been added and what do you still need to add?

It is connected via ethernet cable. I'm hoping it is a defective Arlo hub and a replacement will correct the issue.

It is not a defective Arlo hub. Got the replacement today and same issues...

We were able to add the ports and that did not correct the issue.

Could you try disabling QoS completely from the Anti-Bufferbloat options please and see if that allows it to work correctly?
