XR1000 issues

I have an XR1000 product. (v1) I am using the latest firmware, and I have installed it 2-3 times to address my issues, but this action has not provided a solution.

  1. I have read the documents for firmware upgrades and followed all the important procedures, such as setting the DHCP range to 100-200 and assigning static IPs to all devices. However, sometimes the Wi-Fi connection drops. When this happens, I have to turn the Wi-Fi off and on again.

  2. I added TikTok to the blocked sites list, but it is not being blocked by my router. I believe this module is not working properly.

I like Netgear products, but problems persist even with the latest firmware. Please don’t suggest "Do a factory reset" or similar solutions; I have tried that 2-3 times and it hasn’t worked.

All Netgear customers want a stable, bug-free, and up-to-date version of Duma OS. The XR1000 is an extremely powerful device and it deserves better.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

What do you mean by wifi connection drops?
What devices do you have all connected to the router?

    How many devices are connected?

What WiFi channel configuration do you have set on the router under basic and advanced sections?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

NG routers don't test to block HTTPS sites or social apps. You should look into some DNS services like OpenDNS or NextDNS for help in blocking apps or services.

-I'm using UGREEN Cat 8 sleeved cable.

What do you mean by wifi connection drops?
-This means that the Wi-Fi is connected, but my phone and other devices show a 'no internet' warning. If we don’t turn the settings off and on again, the internet won’t work. This doesn’t happen very often, but we experience it from time to time.

What devices do you have all connected to the router?
      -Smartphones.

      How many devices are connected?
      -7.

What WiFi channel configuration do you have set on the router under basic and advanced sections?
      -Default settings.

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
      -None.

-What is the purpose of this feature then?

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Try setting manual channel 1 on 2.4Ghz and 40 channel on 5Ghz.

If you set an IP address reservation for devices you want to block, does this change the behavior?
Be sure to disable Mac Address Randomizers on the phones.
