XR1000 unresponsive and unable to update firmware
I have an XR1000 router which I attempted to update with the latest firmware. Halfway through the update there was a power outage and it corrupted it. The power light was solid orange with the occasional flick to white light for a few seconds. I tried to get it to the flashing state by turning it off but it kept going back to the orange light. I tried the TFTP flash method but it was never successful. After turning it on and off a few times it now no longer does anything but has a solid white light. I've tried multiple PCs and it now no longer picks up the router over the ethernet and I can no longer successfully ping the router at all. Any ideas how to fix?

tftp can take a few attempts as its sensitive to timings. Nmrpflash is a little less sensitive.
So I'd try again. And try a few times
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Thanks for the quick reply. I've now tried both tftp and Nmrpflash without success. Tftp is unsuccessful and Nmrp comes up with "Error: Ethernet cable is unplugged". I've tried multiple cords in multiple ports with no success. There doesn't appear to be any activity on the router other than the power light which is just constant white. Hopefully it's still under warranty as I only got it a month ago.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerYou should still be under warranty then, would definitely pursue that avenue, either with Netgear support directly or with the retailer you purchased from
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerGreat advice above, if that doesn't work then it is likely unrecoverable and would recommend pursuing a replacement if you're still covered by warranty
