Notification Message Quest Wifi Test Deep Link
I am receiving a notification message that reads, "Guest Wifi Test deep link". Does anyone know what this means?

Multiple Push Notifications
20 hours agoEarlier today, Orbi App users were sent multiple push notifications about guest WiFi. If you received one of these notifications, you can safely ignore it. The notifications were sent accidentally during an internal test. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you, FURRYe38 - I appreciate your messages over the past few hours. Seeing others getting the same messages was somewhat reassuring, in the sense that it wasn't strictly a local issue with my wifi or someone attempting to hack me, but your posts have also been very helpful. Much appreciated - have a great weekend.

Thank you. Trying to be transparent and up front as much possible and being proactive to help users and get NG involved as soon as possible so they and resolve this. I don't think this is any hack being attempted by outside parties, rather something in the Orbi app software is trigging this odd message for everyone. NG IS looking in to it currently. We hope for a resolution soon.
I'll post any information I get from NG when I get it. Users can keep using there systems normally. If you do think something IS wrong or not working right, please make a NEW post in the appropriate forum and we'll help you out or contact NG support directly.
Please be patient.
Thank you.

Thanks for tracking this.
To my knowledge, I'm not even logged into the app. This is a bit spooky, c'mon netgear.

RBR750 with firmware v.4.6.14.3 here, and running the Orbi app on Android 13. Six of same messages came through on my phone in just about one minute.
- C4H7StarOrbi appeared perfectly capable of pushing out multiple redundant unexplainable notifications which alarmed their customers. Odd Orbi can’t push out a follow-up notification clarifying the situation.

Got four messages from 12:42 - 12:56 EDT. Started calling family members at home thinking something was up. No one was trying anything with the guest network. Must be Netgear doing something.

Recieved same message 4 times, thank you everyone for the update. My actions taken until issue is resolved was disable guest network, and disable anywhere access. Logged into my router everything checked out. Hopefully Netgear will have an answer soon.

Hoping this was a borked Netgear test of the app and not.a global hack attempt.
Some sort of announcement from a professional IT company would have been expected by now given the number of people affected

- PancanalAspirantHaving the same problem. Several messages started appearing. “Guest wifi test deep link”. I disconnected the router. Now I have an update pending. What is happening?

Ditto here. No resolution apparent yet. Never had these notifications previously. Netgear?
- StefMcDuffAspirantA deep link is an application term. A deep link will (essentially) take you directly to an app instead of a webpage. Think of if you search "Facebook" on your android phone in Google how you can click the result and it takes you to the Facebook app.
Appears that they were testing a deep link to the guest wifi page in the application. Probably shouldn't have been testing in prod, but I think that the notifications are innocuous (and hey, they worked! Opened straight to the guest wifi page in the app.)- Polyh3dronAspirant
I'm also getting spammed with these notifications all of a sudden today while I'm offsite, and I don't even have an active guest network. My app isn't allowing me to log in either, giving me an error that doesn't say my credentials are incorrect, suggesting more of a failure on the server end of things for this app.

NG is already aware of the issues at hand.
If you are having problems logging in, please submit a bug report:
Thank you.
- MosesChanInitiateI agree with you that netgear probably conduct testing in wrong environments because all case is reported these 2 day. I am not an experienced app developer but I guest they broadcast the testing message by their notifications server with wrong target group i.e production group, which should be intended be targeted to SIT or UAT devices .
