Same problem 3rd time

I have experience the same problem 3 times that the Orbi App does not work when I try to setup the admin password during the setup process. Support kept telling me to reinstall the app and retry install the app but app is stuck with the new SSID instead of the factory SSID and it cannot connect to internet. I have poked it and tried to reset the router but it was not successful. I will tell everybody to stay away from Orbi products if this is the case. Yes, the 6E is a good performer but the trouble in the setup is not worth the trouble.

  • Three times as in 3 setup. They were RBRE960, SRR60, and RBRE750. All three instance I was stuck at the setup. What the YouTube video shows of smooth setup was never existed.

    "poked it" means held an object in the tiny Reset hole and pressed in until the power LED turned amber and began to flash?

     

    My guess is that there is not a computer (desktop, laptop?) available with an Ethernet connection that can be connected to the router just for the setup process?

      Sorry for the confusion, I have poked it thoroughly. It passed the solid red and then flashing red. It was more than 15 seconds. I hope the new update of the Orbi App would purge the previous Settings from the previous setup. My friend does not speak English and you want a 70 yrs old man to contact Google? This must be a joke. Work harder and offer more from your Orbi App to save us troubles. People saw my RBKE963 works like a champion and my friends of circle are starting to use Orbi products but I have installed Orbi App 3 times, and they were all junk. The QC at NG must be sleeping at work.

      Sorry for the 2nd reply. I have even tried 192.168.1.1 and 10.0.0.1 on a Lan cable connection but it was unsuccessful. I tried both because the setup was not complete and I didn’t get a chance to call ISP to change the cable modem to bridge mode. I don’t want to mess up their internet and leave them with nothing to use. I have experienced so much problem on this 3rd product… Orbi App won’t setup admin password, reinstalled Orbi App but the old setting was blocking the setup, and router won’t reset, I wonder if other brands would be this troublesome too.
