Both Orbi satellites disconnecting from mesh simultaneously (RBR750 + RBS750)

Hi all,

My satellites are disconnecting simultaneously and I'm not sure why or how to fix it.

Network set up:
I have an Orbi RBR750 router with 2 RBS750 satellites. Router is connected to ISP gateway in bridge mode and to a couple of devices via ethernet.

The problem:
The network has been working perfectly for over 2.5 years. Then suddenly a few days ago, both satellites suddenly disconnect at the same time. They don't reconnect without intervention from me. Note that both satellites disconnect at the same time.

Some observations:
After satellites disconnect, the router is still working and providing internet access. Orbi admin shows the satellites as disconnected. Seems that satellites are also still broadcasting but disconnected from router (if I move my laptop nearer to a satellite then the laptop will connect to the satellite and not have access to internet).

Solutions tried:
If I power cycle the satellites they will reconnect to the router but a few hours later they will again both drop simultaneously. I did a factory reset in the evening and that worked for a bit but in the morning the satellites simultaneously disconnected again. Confirmed that firmware is up to date on router and satellites (V7.2.6.21).

Recent changes to set up:
Can’t pinpoint a specific change that coincided perfectly with this problem. The most recent changes came a few days before the problem started: I connected an unmanaged Netgear switch (GS308) to the router to sit in front of the two devices that were previously connected by ethernet directly to the router. I also added a new device to the network through the Netgear switch (a Home Assistant server). Not sure when the router or satellite firmware was updated.

Any ideas? Anybody else experienced a similar issue? Thanks!

Try putting the ISP gateway back in router mode (disable its wifi) and then the orbi in access point mode.

See if that keeps it stable. I've seen ISP firmware pushes cause issues so its worth checking

Thanks for the suggestion! I have now factory reset everything (ISP modem, Orbi router, and Orbi satellites) and I'm still having the same issue. Is it possible that there is a firmware issue?
