Customer Service Failure
I appreciate this is a user forum and probably not monitored by Netgear - but I'm having a bad experience and would like to share my story.
Basically I ordered a Orbi 960 with next day delivery. That was several days ago. When I didn't get a despatch notification i queried it and was told that is was being "processed by the warehouse" - more time passed. The status didnt change. I called and was told by one rep that they didn't have in stock.
So I said please cancel. I was then told it could not be cancelled because it was being procesed by the warehouse. How can they be processing something which they don't have ?
So I called again and was told that they had emailed the warehouse but not had any response and should wait another 48 hours for the warehouse to respond.
I then asked to speak to someone in complaints. They then said that there were one in the same and they handled their own complaints. Nice - unbiased decision of their own misdeeds.
I could have purchased the item from the Amazon store and got it several days ago.
Will they cancel or refund - no. Will they phone the warehouse to query it's status - no. Will they make any kind of effort to investigate and resolve the issue - no. It's just one long chain of delaying tactics - and not very subtle stone walling at that.
It's crazy - they dont have the stock - but they are not willlng to cancel the order because it's being processed. I think I will have to contact my bank.
This could all of been sorted out amicably with some honesty and good communication. As it stands there is no trust now and I wish I had not ordered anything from them.

So I can advocate on your behalf, which option I should be working toward:
1. Keep the order and get a tracking number. Also, refund any upgraded shipping charges you may have incurred.
2. Start the return order process as it may be too late to cancel the order if it has in fact shipped.

- Tried sending personal message but ChristineT does not seem to be acceptable as username.
It is certainly not obvious, but the way to send a private message to someone on the forum is to click on their Screen name (next to the picture), which will take you to a page about that forum member with an option to "Send a Private Message".
In my case, place the cursor on "CrimpOn" to the right of the picture of my cat and left of where it says "Experienced User". (sort of an inside joke where "Experienced" stands for "rode hard and put away wet.")
