I've wondered if Netgear ever will fix the issue with the RBR 750 AP-Mode not working since firmware version 4 to current. I see several posts about it but no solution that doesn't involve downgrading to firmware version 3. I'm getting sick of the whole double nat. I tried going through Netgear support but it was just a waste of time. I spent 2 weeks going back and forth going thorough simple troubleshooting and it seemed to me that they didn't even want to acknowledge the issue. Eventually I gave up (which felt like that was the goal all along with all the runaround) Makes me wonder if this issue isn't on purpose. Seems absurd that this hasn't been resolved in well over a year. Are they trying to push their security subscription? I've been an orbi customer for years...starting with the RBR50 and have loved it. This upgrade, however, has been a nightmare.

When I switch to AP mode I lose all wireless every 30-50 seconds...it comes back on but same thing over and over. Satellites won't sync. Switch to router mode and everything is fine. I'm a IT professional by trade and this double-nat'ing aggravates my ocd. I've been running an RBR50 for years with no problems. Upgraded and it's been a headache. I've DHCP...Static...check the logs and nothing. No indication of what's going wrong. I'm using a Hitron (Spectrum) E31U2V1 DOCSIS 3.1 eMTA Internet Cable Modem and a Palo Alto Networks PA-220 Firewall.

Ok put my 750 series online in AP Mode behind my CAX30 in router mode today. CAX30 WiFi disabled. RBS750 is connected behind 3 HP Pro Curve 1400 series 1Gb LAN (non-managed) switches that are daisy chained. Last one being in the basement where the RBS is. I'll leave this run this week and see if anything pops up.

Wow...I feel like I just got answered by a bot. Repeating everything I said back to me and asking me to do what I've done before. When no one else has been able to able to get netgear to acknowledge the issue or resolve it. What makes you think one more incident will solve the issue. I think my orbi will just end up on eBay. Just google RBR 750 not working in AP Mode...you'll see a few pages of issues....and none show a resolution. I think most have just caved and go the double-nat route. Maybe nether picked up a few new armor accounts as a result.

What is exactly the problem your having with your 7 series in AP mode?

I've tested my 7, 8 and 9 series all in AP mode over the past year and have not see any issues of Orbi AX systems having problems in AP mode. Not a lot of posts recently regarding AP mode as well from others.

Please give details on what your having problems with and lets see if we can figure out what the deal is with yours.

    How do you have it setup?
    
    In ap mode are the satellites hardwired in?
    
    Are they using the wired backhaul?
    
    I've frequently seen users stick their Orbi in AP mode and then connect it in using a lan port and not the wan port.
